President of Russian Federation has signed the Federal Law "On amendments to the Federal law "On migration registration of foreign citizens and stateless persons in Russian Federation".

Date of signing and publication of the Federal Law is June 27th, 2018.

As we wrote before in the series of our mailings, according to the new regulation, the place of stay is considered to be:

Residential premises that are not a place of residence or other premises in which a foreign citizen or a stateless person actually resides (regularly uses for sleeping and rest).
In particular, it is stated that a foreign citizen should be registered at the place of stay at the address of the organization in which he works or carries out other activities not prohibited by law, in case of actual residence at the address of the specified organization or in the premises of the specified organization that does not have address data (building, construction).

The law comes into force July 8th, 2018 (10 days after publication)

At the moment territorial departments of Federal Migration Service do not comment the situation and accept the documents without amendments, recommending to wait until technical comments regulating these amendments will be issued.

Please note that until July 25th, 2018 a special regime of migration registration remains in force.
